FRS are recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an SME business based near Gravelly Hill, Birmingham.

The role will report into & work alongside the Finance Director and will have a salary attached around £35k, potentially flexible depending on experience.

Suitable candidates will be locally based, available at short notice, no more than 1 month ideally & have worked within an SME environment previously.

Duties Will Include

Manage all accounting operations: accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and month/year-end support for a group business (5 companies)
Prepare and present financial statements & management reports
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning
Maintain and optimise finance systems, with a focus on QuickBooks (or similar systems knowledge such as Xero or Sage etc)
Strong MS Excel experience would be an advantage for data analytics and reporting etc
Mentor and supervise an AAT apprentice, supporting their development and day-to-day tasks etc
